This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with an enthusiasm for helping Veterinary Undergraduates to develop skills in routine neutering surgery, anaesthesia and patient care. This is a fixed term, part-time position (Tuesdays and Wednesdays during Semester, starting from the 8thOctober 2019), with no out of hours or weekend duties.
The University of Surrey, School of Veterinary Medicine is partnered with a network of veterinary practices to provide a fully distributed model of workplace-based clinical education. The neutering clinic provides invaluable experience for 4thyear students, enabling them to enter final year rotations and general practice with confidence in routine surgery, anaesthesia and patient care.
The role will involve supervising students at the neutering clinic, in conjunction with another Surgeon, diplomat Anaesthetist and RVN. The successful candidate should be confident in elective surgical neutering procedures in cats and dogs and have enthusiasm for sharing their clinical experience and knowledge, giving students the confidence to perform surgical procedures and manage surgical cases.
