Small Animal Veterinarian - Avian and Exotic Veterinarian

Our clinic is located on the north-side of Brisbane in Murrumba Downs. An exciting opportunity for a new veterinarian has become available within our amazing team of five vets and six nurses. Unfortunately, one of our lovely full-time vets is relocating, so we are looking for the right candidate to join our team on a full-time basis. A permanent part-time role may also be considered for the right person. An interest in exotics would be an advantage but not essential. Mentoring in avian and unusual pets is on offer for those that are interested. New and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Do you love cats, dogs, and exotics? We sure do, and every day brings something new at VetMD. Our team of vets see cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rats, lizards, fish, turtles, snakes, and birds just to name a few. We also see and treat injured wildlife. Our lead veterinarian has memberships in unusual pets and birds, and we see quite a large volume of exotic patients as well as cats and dogs. We pride ourselves on our laid back and friendly culture, along with our ability to provide our clients and patients with the highest standards of care.

We are seeking a highly motivated vet who wants to develop their skills in a busy and stimulating environment.

What we can offer you:

• Access to practical training programs through our purpose-built Veterinary Training Centres
• Full-time employment (76 hours per fortnight) or part-time employment will be considered for the right candidate.
• Mentoring in avian and unusual pets by our lead veterinarian if interested.

• A full-time position with a set roster. 38hrs a week including every second Saturday 8am-1pm.

• BVSc or equivalent, and registration to practice in Queensland.
• A commitment to provide exceptional patient care.
• Excellent communication skills with an enthusiastic attitude, good sense of humour and exceptional client relationship building skills.
