Description

This is one of two new positions currently advertised within the Animal Health group in the Department of Primary Industries and Regions South Australia, based in Adelaide.

Working as part of the Epidemiology and Risk team, this role provides you with an exciting opportunity to assist in building PIRSA’s preparedness to respond to disease threats such as foot-and-mouth disease, lumpy skin disease, and African swine fever.

You will undertake a variety of activities, contributing to the development of policies in epidemiology and broader animal health programs, completion of epidemiological and risk analyses, and provision of other technical advice into emergency animal disease preparedness activities and other animal health programs.

This role is a senior position, ideally for a veterinarian with at least some previous government experience. However, if you have a breadth of veterinary experience that has not yet extended to government veterinary services, we would still love to talk to you about this role. This is an exciting opportunity to further advance your veterinary career and pursue your interests in animal disease epidemiology and emergency animal disease preparedness.

At the Department of Primary Industries and Regions, we offer our employees challenging and rewarding work with opportunities for career progression, learning and development and flexibility.
