Job Type Full-time

Description

We are seeking a senior registered veterinarian to join us as a Research Manager. This is a permanent full-time role (there may be some flexibility), and there are prospects for promotion for the right candidate.

Invetus is the largest veterinary clinical research organisation in Australasia. We operate the Invetus Clinical Network (ICN), where our staff undertake research projects with companion animals, working in veterinary clinics and in pet owner’s homes. We deliver high quality, independent research on behalf of animal health companies, which enhances animal health via new or improved medicines and treatments.

Research Managers take the leadership role in our research projects. They manage and conduct research studies, are accountable for both the scientific and financial outcomes of individual research studies and understand the regulatory context for them. They work directly and effectively with our client sponsors, prepare all elements of the project from initial estimate to final report, work closely with other staff as needed, and take responsibility for the quality of all work and documentation. This role works closely with senior members of the Companion Animal business unit, for scientific and research support.

This role requires an experienced researcher or seasoned clinician, with at least some knowledge of and interest in research. You have experience working with companion animals and understand how veterinary clinics operate. Our work is dependent on a range of information systems, so you will be proficient in the usual business software and be quick  to learn our project management program. In this role, you will at times be working with vets and their staff in clinic, or you may be working with pets in owners’ homes. Some familiarity with the regulatory frameworks around the world would be well regarded.

You must be a registered veterinarian, ideally with proven leadership skills. You will be able to operate effectively in a small, dispersed team, work collaboratively and virtually across our sites, communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, understand basic finance concepts, and run each project to budget. The role is based in Sydney, and you will be working from our Inner-West office. The role may require occasional travel beyond Sydney.

You must have a current drivers' licence with access to a vehicle, and you must have the right to work in Australia. If you do not meet these requirements, your application will not be considered.
