About SASH:
The Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) was established 14 years ago. Our North Ryde headquarters is the largest referral facility in the southern hemisphere. SASH also has two other hospitals, SASH Central Coast and our newly opened facility in Adelaide opened late 2021. Our core purpose is to help pets and their families live their best life and we have the privilege of caring for over 20,000 pets and their families each year.
With the recent and continuous growth of the business, our People and Culture team has identified the need to expand our team to better service the needs of the business. About the Role:
Our People Connect team support the SASH business across all generalist people & culture activities, specifically reviewing and advising on P&C policies and processes, ensuring the most effective utilisation of P&C for the purpose of achieving business objectives. As one of our People & Culture Advisors, you will play a significant role in the overall provision of the People & Culture experience and supporting the implementation of our strategy across the organisation.
We are looking for a Senior People & Culture Advisor who has a passion and commitment for identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the service aspects of SASH. You will also deliver operational advice to line managers across the business and providing the full range of general P&C services and activities. Further to this you will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Deliver and implement people initiatives across the SASH network, focussed on improving the people experience including policy development, onboarding and supporting the roll out of remuneration and benefits strategy and other People & Culture initiatives
- Provide day-to-day generalist advice and support to various leaders and stakeholders
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring leaders to ensure seamless onboarding and positive people experience
- Manage the People & Culture systems and reporting as required. Looking for continuous improvement opportunities and data analytics
- Review and update SASH policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with legislation
- General People & Culture administration – ensuring all People & Culture documentation is prepared and documented with accuracy and timeliness
- Promote a strong culture in line with SASH values and behaviours
- Support the People Connect Team Leader in delivering People & Culture projects and planning Day-to-day people enquiries and inbox management
- Review processes and systems in order to streamline these and improve efficiency and workflow
- Responsible for creation of People & Culture documentation including employment contracts & relevant employment paperwork
- Coordinate any claims for workers’ compensation; liaise with our external Workers Compensation organisation, insurers and claims management team
- Support the People and Culture team with management of the WHS program, management of workers compensation claims, injuries and WHS compliance
About You:

To be successful, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification on in Human Resources or business
- Minimum 18 months’ experience in a similar Advisor role or equivalent
- An excellent work ethic
- The ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to work autonomously, show initiative and work productively within a team environment
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to communicate with a wide variety of people at all levels
- Ability to adapt easily to change and prioritise multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines
- Commitment to providing excellent service
- Adept at problem solving including the ability to identify issues and resolve them in a timely manner
- Possess exceptional interpersonal skills
- High-level organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to travel to different sites from time to time
Desirable:
- Exposure to implementing new HR technology
- Experience in mentoring or managing junior team members
