AgriFutures is responsible for investing in research and development to promote industry growth, sustainability and resilience through innovation, learning, and leadership in rural industries that do not have their own dedicated RDC and new emerging industries. AgriFutures growAG. is an online agrifood innovation platform that serves as the global gateway to Australian agrifood research and innovation opportunities. Launched in April 2021, growAG.com showcases investment and research opportunities, expertise, organizations, and research from Australia and around the world in one easy-to-use location. The platform is supported by a unique concierge team to enhance connections and drive relationships and partnerships.
growAG. enables research and development corporations, other research organisations, and inventors to list their technologies, attract investment, and find commercial partners from within Australia and around the world. The platform is designed to support connections within the agrifood tech and innovation ecosystem.
The Role
As the Senior Business Development Manager for growAG., focusing on Customer and Growth, you will play a critical role in driving the expansion of our platform by identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and leading key initiatives to scale the platform. You will work closely with leadership to shape and execute the company’s growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities include:
Develop and Execute Business Development Strategy: Lead the creation and implementation of strategies to drive platform growth, strengthen existing markets, enter new markets, and expand our customer base.
Partnership & Relationship Building: Identify, manage, and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including RDCs, research organisations, innovators, ecosystem builders and corporates.
Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the Customer and Growth team to be a high performing team and deliver customer service excellence.
New Product/Service Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and roll out new services and features based on market demands.
Insights & Reporting: Track performance metrics, analyse results, and present progress reports to senior leadership, adjusting strategies as needed for optimal results.
Who We Need
Our ideal Senior Business Development Manager will possess the following:
Tertiary qualification with related field experience
Experience (7+ years) in customer account management, business development and stakeholder engagement, ideally with experience in a corporate environment
Demonstrated experience of developing customer and client relationships, stakeholder management and negotiation.
Knowledge and an active interest in the agrifood technology and innovation ecosystem
Staff management and leadership skills
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively pitch and present to various audiences.
Proficient in working with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), reporting tools, and customer relationship management tools
Proficient in major forms of social media
