The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor to join the Department of Microbiology in the School of Biological Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
Reporting to the Head of Department, you will develop a world-class program of research in an aspect of microbiology. Your role will include conducting original research that will lead to high quality publications and attract external and government funding. You should also be able to demonstrate a capacity to contribute to other research themes within the Department and within the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute. You will be expected to be able to make contributions to microbiology teaching activities within the Department, School and Faculty. This includes, but is not limited to, the preparation, oversight and delivery of lectures, tutorials, practical's and workshops.
You must have a doctoral qualification and/or recognised significant experience in Bacteriology or another Microbiology area and those with expertise and experience in the area of molecular bacteriology are particularly encouraged to apply. You will have a proven track record of leading a successful research program in microbiology including, but not limited to bacteriology. Experience with undergraduate teaching, research training including PhD supervision and mentorship with successful completions, will be essential to your success as an educator in this role.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
