The College of Engineering, Science, and Environment is a world-class centre for scientific and technology research and innovation. The School of Environmental and Life Sciences (SELS) is the College’s largest School, offering a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The School undertakes internationally excellent research with substantial numbers of research higher degree students, and has excellent research facilities.

In this role, you will contribute to leadership in a new research group focused on animal and plant molecular biology and agri-biotechnology. This group will work on a wide variety of topical issues including plant resilience and adaptation, animal-based agribusiness, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and food security. You will work to build links across the University with researchers in climate change, conservation science, food science and human nutrition, soils and nutrient enhancement, and bioinformatics.

This position will be within the discipline of biology in the School of Environmental & Life Sciences. You will contribute to undergraduate teaching in key areas in the discipline, as well as first year courses supporting students to understand and appreciate general biology.

You will have a demonstrated research track record commensurate with experience, and a clear vision for evolving a successful future research and innovation portfolio.

This full-time ongoing position will be located at the Callaghan Campus.

How will we support you?

The remuneration is $126,466 to $145,803, plus 17% superannuation.
