The School of Veterinary Medicine is responsible for the training of veterinary science graduates to enable lifelong professional success. The degree program has received international accreditation and a central part of the training is development of core clinical competencies. As part of this process veterinary science students undertake training in our hospital, clinics, and clinical services.
The Role
The School now seeks an experienced Equine Surgery or Equine Sports Medicine academic at either the Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer level to join the team. The role is offered as a Clinical/Professional Practice Scholar (‘clinical track’) profile, depending on experience and qualifications. Specific responsibilities for these roles at each level, and for each work profile, can be found in the attached position descriptions.
This position is suitable for candidates interested in a part-time role. Consideration will be given to two suitable candidates interested in part-time positions, particularly if dual-speciality coverage is provided and candidates interested in part-time positions are encouraged to apply.
What you’ll bring to this role
The preferred candidate will have:
- Veterinary degree registrable by the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board of Western Australia
- Eligibility to register as a specialist equine surgeon, ideally Dip ACVS (with the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board of Western Australia) or as an equine sports medicine and rehabilitation (Dip ACVSMR) specialist.
- Experience as an equine surgery academic
- Demonstrated experience and success in innovative course and teaching program design.
