  • $158,269 to $174,225 per annum (Level D)

About the role

As either a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor, you will provide research and teaching expertise and leadership in animal health, within the discipline of Animal Science at UNE. The successful candidate will develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, building upon existing animal science units, build and lead a research group, undertake research and supervise HDR students in the relevant discipline, take an active leadership role in broader curriculum development and coordination within the School, and perform administrative duties as necessary to maintain a high level of functionality within the School. The successful candidate will build on the world-leading reputation and unique research infrastructure of UNE for excellence in farm animal health research.

 

About you

The discipline of Animal Science currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer (Level C) or Associate Professor (Level D) with a background in Animal Health to join our world-leading academic team. To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD or equivalent in veterinary science, animal health and/or animal disease, focusing on farm animals. We are especially interested in applicants who are (or can be) registered as a veterinarian in Australia, and those with a research background in poultry. You should be an innovative educator with a knack for research-driven, student-centred teaching, capable of inspiring critical thinking in both online and face-to-face settings. You will be able to demonstrate your effectiveness as a supervisor of higher degree research students, and must have a strong research profile, proven success in securing independent funding, and a knack for building collaborative relationships with industry and funding bodies. Your publication record in high-impact journals will reflect your expertise as an independent and original researcher. If you thrive in both independent and collaborative environments, foster positive working relationships, and embrace a diverse and inclusive academic setting, this role is for you.
