Description
Are you passionate about protecting and conserving Victoria's natural environment and wildlife? Do you have the skills and experience to plan and lead complex investigations and compliance operations relating to wildlife, forest produce, land and fire management? If so, you might be the ideal candidate for the role of Senior Forest and Wildlife Officer at the Conservation Regulator.
As a Senior Forest and Wildlife Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking intelligence driven investigations and compliance operations of a complex nature relating to wildlife, forest produce, land and fire management operations. You will also prepare high quality reports, briefs, correspondence and briefings on a range of compliance matters, and contribute to the design and delivery of education programs on compliance. You will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders, and support the development of policy and strategy, planning and delivery of environmental compliance and wildlife management programs.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of conservation regulatory legislation, policy and the planning and delivery of compliance operations.
- A Certificate IV in government investigations (or an equivalent qualification) and/or experience in the application of environmental regulation is highly desirable.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is negotiable within the Loddon Mallee Region
