We invite you to take on a vital leadership role within Council's Animal Care Facility.

As a Senior Animal Care Attendant, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the welfare of animals in our care, leading a dedicated team, and maintaining the highest standards of operation. Your expertise will be crucial in creating a safe, effective, and compassionate environment for both animals and staff.

 

Primary Objectives: Monitor and supervise the operation of Council’s Animal Care Facility, in accordance with legislative requirements and Council procedures, including supervising the Animal Care Attendants & Patrol Officers.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal welfare and care.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and enforce procedures and protocols in compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Experience in performance management, conducting appraisals, and fostering professional development among team members.
  • Familiarity with impounding procedures, animal transport, and veterinary liaison.
  • Passionate advocate for animal welfare, with a commitment to ethical and responsible care.
  • Collaborative team player, willing to work closely with colleagues and stakeholders.
