We are seeking a proactive, resourceful team player to join our company as Scientific Facilities Manager.

 

About the role

The Scientific Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination and delivery of facility support services into all sections of the company. This includes ensuring the following are maintained in good order and repaired or replaced as necessary: external buildings and grounds, laboratory buildings and facilities, scientific equipment, general and office equipment, building security system and ICT system.

 

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor and coordinate work orders and job requests.
  • Respond to reported maintenance issues and coordinate efficient and effective responses.
  • Schedule and plan all preventative and maintenance work. Ensuring all relevant reports are collected and stored.
  • Obtain quotes, engage, and supervise maintenance contractors, to maintain a high-level working environment.
  • Research and procure scientific equipment.
  • Problem solving of enquiries relating to a wide range of different facilities, systems, equipment, and processes.
  • Coordinate and manage new facilities projects.
  • Recommend/implement improvements for preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Manage and maintain equipment asset list.
  • Work closely with external IT consultant for all ICT related matters including cybersecurity, IT support and IT Management.
  • ICT system support including managing and maintaining ICT asset list.
  • Support day-to-day operations activities related to IT
  • Coordinate and collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure all cybersecurity and IT-related issues are addressed efficiently.
  • Setting up all users with server drive access, MS accounts, emails, workstations/laptops, key fob access to buildings.
  • Build effective working relationships with contractors and suppliers.

 

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong communication skills
  • High degree of problem-solving expertise
  • Previous experience in IT support and an understanding of cybersecurity
  • Good attention to detail
  • Minimum intermediate skills using Microsoft Office suite
