About This Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional School Manager to join the School of Veterinary Science, where you will serve as the principal advisor to the Head of School (HoS) and the wider School community. This pivotal role involves overseeing the School's operations, legislative requirements, budget management, and core business processes - ensuring the seamless execution of high-quality teaching, research, and operational initiatives.

As a vital member of the School Executive, you will shape both strategic and operational priorities, driving efficiency and fostering collaboration across multiple organisational stakeholders. In addition, you'll ensure compliance with key policies and regulations, offering strategic guidance to the HoS and supporting the School through major policy shifts. Your expertise in risk mitigation and management controls will be essential in maintaining the School's excellence and reputation, ultimately enhancing its impact in education, research, and commercial activities.

Finally, you will lead efforts to integrate professional services, cultivate a strong and inclusive workplace culture, and champion equality, diversity, and inclusion within the School and broader university.

The role reports directly to the Head of School and has a functional relationship with the Faculty Executive Manager.

 

About You

We are seeking exceptional leader with postgraduate qualifications (or equivalent) in business administration or a related field, backed by a proven track record in high-impact leadership and management. Experience in the areas of strategic workforce planning, change management practices and budget management will be key. Your ability to engage, influence, and negotiate with diverse stakeholders will be vital, along with your passion for mentoring and building high-performing, forward-thinking teams.

Our successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the workings of tertiary institutions, academic institutions and the higher education sector at a management level including funding, teaching and learning outcomes and quality issues.
