WHAT YOU WILL LOOK AFTER
- The primary responsibility of this Territory Manager position is to profile, promote, and maximise sales of the company’s range of over-the-counter and biopharma products for production animals (predominantly cattle & sheep) to end user customers in a defined rural territory, which covers Yorke Peninsula, Eyre Peninsula, Jamestown, Burra, Peterborough, Clare, Adelaide (northern suburbs), as well as to provide backup co-operation for products relating to other Animal Health products.
- Of critical importance to the successful execution of this role is the ability to liaise with customers/end users, rural retail store managers and staff, local veterinarians and agricultural department personnel, attendance at conferences, preparation and delivery of technical training events, technical detailing of products to producers, and assistance in the planning and implementation of marketing and product promotions.
- This Animal Health sales opportunity operates within the pharmaceutical industry, which in Australia is both highly regulated and very competitive.
- The success in this role largely depends on your ability to build mutually beneficial customer relationships to optimise market share within Animal Health.
- You will need to gain a high level of market penetration and effectively manage new and existing customers. This requires a high level of coordination between end users, customers, sales, marketing, technical services, customer service, and other internal stakeholders.
- In conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager, you will execute sell-in strategies to distributors/partners to maintain stock levels to meet local demand and promote key account-specific marketing strategies.
- You will ensure that all product brand campaigns are well executed (including effective dissemination of point-of-sale material) with the goal of maximising sales of your promoted brands. This includes all sales, marketing, and technical aspects of each campaign.
- You will provide technical and product training to distributor staff and visit farms and local livestock primary producers to sell the company’s range of solutions and products.
WHAT EXPERIENCE & SKILLS WILL YOU NEED?
- Tertiary qualifications preferred (life science or business ideal).
- Relevant commercial experience in a similar sales role, preferably in Animal Health.
- Key account management experience an advantage with highly developed skills in negotiating, influencing, and establishing collaborative customer relationships.
