We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic Ruminant Sales Nutritionist to join our Roma based team for an immediate start. This is a challenging and rewarding role combining both practical and science-based approaches.

Though nutritional experience is desired, graduates with practical experience are encouraged to apply.

Located just a 5.5-hour drive (476kms), or a 1-hour flight, west of Brisbane, Roma is the main service centre for the Maranoa Region in the southwest of Outback Queensland and is well known for the discovery of natural gas in 1900. With a population of 7,011 the region hosts the biggest cattle saleyards in the southern hemisphere, truly spectacular ancient landscapes, and unique flora & fauna. There are eight established tourist drives, perfect for the 4WD enthusiast looking to get off the beaten track. Carnarvon Gorge National Park offers towering white cliffs, huge rock overhangs adorned with ochre stencils and engravings from an ancient and ongoing culture and an array of well-established walking trails.

As a Ruminant Sales Nutritionist, you will play an integral role within the business through the provision of:

  • Technical advice and support to grazier clients
  • Add value to our customers by delivering business solutions designed to increase production gains in varying environmental conditions.
  • Sample and analyse water, soil, pasture, and feed rations
  • Sales support through proactive provision of solutions and regular client follow up
  • Approval point for all quotes and written advice relating to company feed products
  • Research & development in animal nutrition and current market
  • Assist in the Product Delivery and QA
  • On-farm visits

 

To be successful in this role you will have the following: 

  • A passion for customer service and enjoy working in the rural industry.
  • Science Degree in an agricultural discipline with an animal nutrition component (Agricultural Science, Animal Science, Veterinary Science or a related field).
  • Ruminant nutrition experience.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in autonomously and in collaborative team environments.
  • Comfortable working to KPI’s and targets.
  • A current driver’s licence.
  • Enjoy being hands-on with the supplies and products and to work directly with fellow Nutritionists, Production/ Mill staff, Purchasing and Management.
  • Positive, friendly and outcome focused.
