About the business

Invetus is the largest veterinary clinical research organisation in Australasia. We operate Wongaburra Research Centre (WRC), based in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, where we undertake companion animal pen studies. We deliver high quality, independent research on behalf of animal health companies, which enhances animal health via new or improved medicines and treatments.

About the role

We are seeking a veterinarian to join us as a Study Manager. This is a permanent full time role, however a part time arrangement may be considered (minimum three days a week). Study Managers work under the supervision of Research Managers. They manage and conduct research studies and contribute to the scientific and financial outcomes of individual research projects. They work directly and effectively with our client sponsors, contribute to elements of the project from initial estimate to final report, work closely with other staff as needed, and take responsibility for the quality of the research and documentation.

As a veterinarian you will also provide veterinary care to the colony of dogs and cats and complete necessary documentation for animals enrolled in a study. Veterinary expertise will be required for specific research projects. Veterinary registration in NSW is desirable but not essential.

Why Invetus?

Invetus contributes to the health and wellbeing of animals by helping in the development of new medicines and treatments. We are evidence-based, focused on animal welfare, and very good at what we do. Many of our clients bring repeat work, and we are constantly seeking new areas of business. We invest in our people and our processes and set clear priorities.

Skills and experience

This role ideally requires an experienced clinician with at least some knowledge of and interest in research. Our work is dependent on a range of information systems, so proficiency in the usual business software would be advantageous, as would be the ability to quickly learn our project management program.

You will be able to operate effectively in a small team, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. You will have excellent attention to detail and work well to deadlines. The role is based near Casino, NSW.

You  must have unrestricted rights to work in Australia, and you must have a current Australian driver's licence. If you don't meet these conditions, your application will not be considered.
