An opportunity exists for a Research Assistant / Senior Research Assistant (RSSY / RSSZ) to join the Ovarian Cancer Biomarker laboratory at the Hudson Institute. The successful applicant will work within a dynamic team taking a novel monoclonal antibody therapy through to first-in-human clinical trials.
The role requires someone skilled in animal husbandry and pre-clinical cancer models (ideally ovarian), outstanding cell culture technique, excellent record-keeping skills and immaculate attention to detail. Experience in a GLP- or ISO-compliant laboratory environment would be an advantage.
This project is funded by a commercial partner and requires confidentiality to be maintained at all times.
Essential:
- Animal husbandry skills including proficiency in mouse handling, substance administration by injection (subcutaneous, intravenous, intraperitoneal); anaesthesia; dissection.
- Exceptional mammalian cell culture skills, including routine cell line maintenance, 2D and 3D / spheroid culture, standard endpoint (e.g. alamar) assays
- Tissue immunostaining
- Outstanding record-keeping abilities, including protocol drafting and data recording; and ability to perform experiments exactly as described for compliance purposes
Desirable:
- Experience with ovarian cancer models would be an advantage.
- Immunofluorescence microscopy;
- ELISA or other microplate assays;
- Flow cytometry
- Cell-based assays including xCELLigence, wound healing / scratch assays, migration, invasion
