We have a great opportunity available for an experienced scientist to join our Research, Development and Licensing Department based at our Penrith manufacturing facility.

Reporting to the Head of Vaccine Development, you will be responsible for conducting and supporting the research and development of new vaccines.

 

Your key areas of accountability will be:

  • Conducting research and development of new products and tests as well as other laboratory based activities
  • Supporting the general running of the New Vaccine Development laboratory and other Research, Development and Licensing labs as required
  • Performing trouble shooting on laboratory tests

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Knowledge of relevant scientific techniques, procedures and principle
  • Advanced skills and expertise in a relevant subset of these techniques
  • A good understanding and experience in basic microbiological techniques
  • General understand and experience in basic immunological techniques
  • Understand the basic theory behind test methods used
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to train colleagues in test methods and/or equipment use
  • Ability to work autonomously

 

In addition, your ability to analyse problems and situations, along with you excellent planning skills will be highly regarded.  A tertiary qualification in science is essential and your 3 years+ experience in a related field will go a long way to helping you in this role.
