Description

Diwan base (Daintree North) is accessible via ferry crossing the Daintree River. A team of five ranger staff whos duties include maintaining visitor infrastructure and visitor management, pest and fire management and generally assist with caring for magnificent Daintree National Park.

The OO6 Ranger position will supervise, mentor and develop the team to ensure it meets the operational requirements of the management unit so previous experience managing teams is essential to this position. The high visitation numbers mean rangers are in the public eye, so professional presentation and great interpersonal skills are a must. The role will also work closely with the local Traditional Owners and Jabalbina Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation.

The Daintree North management area extends from the Daintree River to Black Mountain National Park and includes Cedar Bay and there is a possibility that travel to other locations is necessary from time to time.
