About you:
You are a qualified Radiographer with specialised clinical skill, knowledge, and expertise in MRI, team building skills, including effective communication with professional and operational colleagues and managers across the professional streams. You are competent to apply latest evidence-based practice to apply knowledge and skills that facilitate novel and/or critical decisions in a complex clinical caseload and can manage a small sized team in the day-to-day operations of the MRI section while fulfilling a clinical role, including prioritisation in line with service demands, targets, and resources.
Your opportunity:
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced MRI radiographer to provide leadership to the MRI department at Cairns Hospital and ensure the provision of a high quality, efficient and effective imaging service. The successful applicant will have an advanced level of MRI knowledge and experience at 3T to deliver specialised MRI imaging services in this busy hospital setting. The successful applicant will be responsible for the leadership, training, workflow management and day to day governance of the MRI Section at Cairns Hospital. This position reports to the Director of Medical Imaging.
Your role:
- Demonstrated specialist level knowledge and clinical skills in complex contemporary clinical practice standards with accountability for providing independent high level specialist clinical services relating MR imaging.
- Provide independent application of clinical expertise to improve clinical techniques and provides the reference point for other clinicians at a service level and advice to senior management, colleagues and other relevant stakeholders regarding complex professional standards and clinical service development.
- The role influences clinical practice through the provision of professional advocacy and/or leads clinical governance systems and processes for the service.
- The role provides independent clinical services of a highly complex and varied nature where principals, procedures, techniques, or methods require adaptation or modification to address clinical requirements.
- The role is responsible in maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement and leads change through service-wide quality and service improvement activities and the development of better practice to implement new and improved models of MRI service delivery.
