Do you excel in connecting with a diverse range of people and animals? If this sounds like you, this role with Happy Paws Happy Hearts will be a ‘paw-fect’ fit.
You'll be working with dedicated and supportive people, that are passionate about improving the lives of both animals and people. Excellent communication and facilitation skills with a passion for people and animals, will contribute greatly to your success in this role. Come help us make a difference with quality programs and make some ‘paw-sitive’ change in the world!
About Us
Happy Paws Happy Hearts (HPHH) brings socially isolated people together in groups, to care for and train rescue animals. Our unique twist is that we deliver training at local rescue shelters and wildlife sanctuaries. Instead of taking trained pets to people, we've demonstrated a more robust and scalable model, which takes the people to animals in need. This is a win-win for two complex social challenges.
HPHH is a national organisation and we are seeking to expand our reach and impact, by supporting participants in our life-changing courses to experience meaningful interactions with people and rescue animals – building skills, connections, and confidence.
What we can offer you:
- Opportunities for learning and development
- Access to an Employee Assistance Program and wellness initiatives
- Attractive not-for-profit salary sacrificing benefits
- Competitive remuneration package based on qualifications and experience
About The Role
Based at our office at Ten Lives, New Town, you will build rapport, trust, and relationships with both the people and cats we work with. With masterful facilitation, you will deliver our suite of programs in an engaging and consistent fashion and support our participants to achieve their individual goals.
You will work closely with Ten Lives, create meaningful connections between participants, and support our participants to meet their individual goals. The role requires some administrative record keeping and multitasking, as it is a busy role. It is a hands-on active role and can be physical in requiring energy and enthusiasm to engage the class but also retrieve cats from the shelter.
Our Program Trainers have a passion for pets of all shapes and sizes, and through the training and rehabilitation of animals. Your role is to be the glue that brings participants and animals together, providing the information, support, and skills they need to succeed. We call this the magic!
This is a permanent casual position working Fridays. Also working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as needed to cover leave.
