About the role
You’ll play a critical role in building and maintaining the capability and capacity of Biosecurity Tasmania to enable effective preparedness, response, and recovery from biosecurity incidents. Some of your key duties will include:
- Plan, develop, and maintain a comprehensive biosecurity emergency management framework.
- Represent Biosecurity Tasmania at Commonwealth, State, and Regional government committees.
- Provide strategic and operational emergency management advice to Biosecurity Tasmania and other stakeholders.
- Design and coordinate training activities and exercises.
- Coordinate the development of contingency plans and resource mobilisation strategies.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Period of appointment
12 months.
Desirable requirements
- Advanced Diploma in Project Management, or similar.
- Advanced Diploma in Emergency Management, or other relevant qualifications.
- Qualifications in Incident Management e.g. Australasian Inter-service Incident Management System (AIIMS).
