About the Role
Professional Consulting Veterinarians (PCV) are supportive to the company’s efforts to grow sales and market share, and cover a broad range of professional activities, including, but not limited to: excellence in digital education; building relationships with and education of veterinary and Vet Nurse Key Thought Leaders; support for professional associations; educational support for the Veterinary Health Care Team in both independent and vet corporate groups; engagement with the next generation of veterinary professionals, and professional and consumer social engagement. This role will also represent Hill’s at professional events and includes duties as a consultant for the Veterinary Consultation Service.
PCVs at Hill’s are key to securing ongoing veterinary recommendation and are an important component of the evolving commercial environment, bringing the veterinary professional expertise and insights that define Hill’s and differentiate it from its competition.
The PCV reports to the Professional Veterinary Affairs Manager (PVAM) and supports the strategy provided by the PVAM to deliver Hill’s programs, integrating these programs into the commercial organisation to accomplish the yearly KPIs set by the region’s GM, leading to:
♦ Strong positive impression of the Hill’s company, its products, and its services
♦ Continued scientific leadership of Hill’s
♦ Leadership in active veterinary team endorsement
The ideal candidate has:
- Digitally Savvy - Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and ability to learn company specific tools & programs
- Valid driver’s license required
- Excellent communication and media skills (written, verbal and presentation)
What you’ll need
- Degree in Veterinary Science or Veterinary Medicine, eligible for registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria is essential
- Current veterinary registration and clinical competence
- 5+ years of small animal clinical practice experience
- Valid driver’s licence required
- Strong work ethic, professional appearance and approach, high integrity, self-motivated and adaptable
- Basic understanding of business terminology; good analytical skills
- Membership or Fellowship of the ANZCVS, MBA or higher degree/training in small animal medicine or nutrition a plus
- Previous animal health industry highly regarded
