Description
The Principal Veterinary Officer- Disease Surveillance the Director, Animal Health & Welfare in the provision of high level technical, policy and strategic advice on a broad range of livestock disease surveillance issues.
The position will provide leadership and technical direction on animal health disease surveillance at a state level whilst also driving innovation through the adoption of new technologies in disease surveillance. The position will also contribute to emergency preparedness and response activities.
The successful applicant is expected to have extensive experience in the provision of high level technical and policy advice on complex animal health issues relevant to disease surveillance, or have necessary skills to do so, and have well developed written and oral skills. An attention to detail and ability to produce high quality work outputs are considered essential for this position. An ability to work with minimal supervision is also important.
