Northern Territory Veterinary Services is looking for a motivated, well-organised, customer focused Practice Manager to join our dedicated team of vets and nurses in the management of two veterinary practices. Experience and/or qualifications in Practice Management and/or Vet Nursing is ideal.

Northern Territory Veterinary Services is one of the leading veterinary providers in the Northern Territory. Consisting of Katherine Veterinary Clinic and Alice Veterinary Centre, NT Vet services provides services to many of the NT's residents, stations and remote communities. We treat all animals from dogs and cats, to horses, camels, cattle, and wildlife and we also run Aboriginal Community Veterinary Services that provides services to remote indigenous communities throughout the whole NT and North Queensland.

The practice manager is responsible for the business activities of the practice including:

• promoting the practice
• rostering
• client communication
• training support staff;
• assisting in hiring of staff,
• monitoring key performance indicators and setting fees;
• maintaining inventory and an inventory control system;
• managing the hospital software;
• implementing safety and security procedures
• managing the maintenance of the facilities
• dealing with customer issues and complaints
• assisting in resolving staff and management issues
• account management
• working with the owner to prepare financial statements and budgets,

This is a leadership position with the additional responsibility of ensuring a positive work environment in which the practice achieves its goals.

The practices are modern, computerised, airconditioned, in pleasant tropical surroundings. Staff are supported to pursue continuing education and ongoing training.

Katherine is a the jewel in the crown of the Top End. It has all major facilities including schools, sporting clubs, restaurants, cinemas, hospital, airport and loads of outdoor activities. Fishing, camping, canoeing, water skiing, hiking, hunting and all popular sports are some of the recreation activities.

A generous salary package will be negotiated dependent on qualifications and experience. Subsidised accommodation is generally available.

Selection Criteria- Essential

• Driver license
• Proven experience as a team leader
• Qualifications in business management and/or vet nursing or experience in vet nursing
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Proven ability to teach and supervise less experienced staff

Selection Criteria- Highly Desirable

• Basic ability with common and vet specific software
• Unrestricted (manual) driver license
• 3 years + experience in small animal/mixed practice
• Experience with Rx Works
• Experience with MYOB Accountright
