About Us: the Cameron Veterinary Services was established by Dr Lachlan Cameron March 2020, as a single vet mobile clinic. Servicing the Adelaide Hills, Gawler, Barossa and surrounding districts and now growing to a bricks and mortar clinic in Springwood, Gawler East SA.

 

The Clinic: the clinic has three consult rooms, separate surgery and sterile preparation area, separate dog and cat wards, imaging room and vet offices and a large treatment area. This clinic provides personalised veterinary care to our clients, whilst creating a community for our staff.

We have a second site for large animal medicine situated at Mt Pleasant, SA. This clinic provides care for our equine patients as well as having a mobile crush, and vehicle for servicing farm animals, and other hobby farm enthusiasts in the field. We currently do runs to the York Peninsular, Pt Pirie, Fleurieu and Riverland.

  • Portable crush
  • Equine dentistry equipment – Powerfloat, extraction equipment, Portable DR radiography etc.
  • Under cover crush, with day yards and stables

Type of Work: due to the ongoing expansion of the clinic this role will require someone to be flexible in all roles from nursing to management, customer care and account keeping etc. We are a fledgling clinic, and this position will require a “jack of all trades” approach, until we grow our team to involve set positions.

  • Management & Leadership
    • Direct day to day leadership of staff members
    • Delegate and manage staff rostering, ordering, clinic day to day
    • Monitor and manage profitability, wages, payroll, KPI’s etc.
    • Ensure practice goals are met and continued expansion of our client list, services, and quality
    • Protocol creation, enforcement, and adaptation.
  • Veterinary Nursing
    • Hospitalisation, in patient care, routine health checks
    • Managing anaesthetics for routine and complex surgical cases
  • Customer relationships
    • Client communication and assistance in providing veterinary care to both in patients and consultations.
    • Ensuring high standard of customer care, follow up, invoicing, quoting etc.
    • Social media, newsletter management
  • Online store (yet to be released!)
    • Online store sales, continued growth and expansion of product range.
    • Newsletter management

 

Hours of Work: the clinic is open six days a week. We need someone

  • Full time position – would consider a 4 day working week.
  • No after hours requirements.
  • Must be flexible to cover all roles.

 

Salary: 

  • Salary position, will consider 4 day working week.
  • Salary will be dependent on experience, searching for the right attitude to patient and client care as well as contributing the profession staff and longevity
  • 65-85K equivalent yearly salary
  • Growth opportunities for salary and hours as the clinic grows.
  • Sponsorship in leadership development through the Lincoln Institute and other such organisations, focusing on leadership growth and development.

 

Standard Requirements: 

  • The position will require a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • Minimum 2-5+ years experience in the veterinary industry (preferably 5+)
  • A strong understanding of the veterinary industry
  • Previous management/leadership experience

 

Springwood: Springwood is a newly developed suburb in Gawler East. The clinic is situated as an outbuilding of a Drakes supermarket complexThe suburb is expanding at a rate of knots! Huge opportunities in growth as the area builds.
