We are seeking a Practice Manager to join the expanding Wildlife Victoria Travelling Vet Service.

This is one of the most unique veterinary service roles in Victoria.

Wildlife Victoria is the state’s lead wildlife rescue organisation. ACNC registered not-for-profit, we assisted 90,000 injured, orphaned and sick native wildlife in the last financial year.

Wildlife Victoria’s Travelling Veterinary Service (TVS) is Victoria’s first mobile veterinary service dedicated to the clinical care of native species both at the point of rescue in field, and in DEECA approved wildlife shelters. We are now ready to expand the service, and it is a very exciting time to join our organisation.

Wildlife Victoria is looking to hire a motivated Practice Manager who can work efficiently with various stakeholders to coordinate and manage Wildlife Victoria’s Travelling Veterinary Service.

Overseeing 12 veterinary staff, the Practice Manager is an integral member of the Wildlife Victoria Operations Management team, reporting to the Head of Operations for Wildlife Victoria.

 

 About you:

  • Preferably Practice Manager background in the veterinary or similar industry
  • You excel at developing positive and productive workplace relationships
  • Demonstrated skills in planning and organisation, including people resources
  • A willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved at all levels with energy and drive
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Experience in organising mixed practices across more than one site
  • Sound people leadership experience
  • A commitment to positive workplace culture
  • Ability to develop, implement, and review policies and procedures

 

The Role:

  • Ensure smooth day to day running of TVS operations
  • Coordinate all practice administrative tasks (including rosters, stock control & procurement, and facilities management)
  • Schedule and organise team meetings and support and develop nursing staff
  • Promote team health, safety & wellbeing
  • Liaise with management to ensure the financial goals of the TVS are met
  • Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Head of Operations to help promote a culture that encourages top performance and high morale
  • Facility management and maintenance upkeep
