Position Highlights
The position will focus on the scholarship of human-animal interaction. Job duties will include data collection, project management, data analysis, reporting (e.g., IRB, IACUC, DSMB) and scientific writing for peer-reviewed publications on human-animal interaction research. This will include the coordination and management of a national clinical trial of service dogs for veterans with PTSD. The individual will assist with ongoing data collection, project management, and data analysis (to meet requirements of the Data Safety and Monitoring Board as well as to expedite study processing throughout the duration of data collection). Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage operations of a nationwide randomized clinical trial (NIH R01) of service dogs for military veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
- Data collection (including human participant communications) and project management for human-animal interaction research.
- Assist with ongoing data management and analysis (to meet requirements of the Data Safety and Monitoring Board).
- Provide mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students.
- Data analysis and scientific writing for peer-reviewed publications on human-animal interaction research.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Psychology, Occupational Science, Human-Animal Interaction, Human Development and Family Studies, Neuroscience, Education, Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, or related field upon hire.
