Located 20 minutes south of Canberra on a grazing and bushland property in the scenic Michelago valley, and gateway to the Snowy Mountains, Snuggles Pet Resort is looking for a passionate, pet-loving person to join the team as Assistant Manager.

As the Assistant Manager at Snuggles Pet Resort, you will be responsible for:
- maintaining our high standards of customer service
- continuing our unrivalled excellence in pet care and ensuring the pets’ physical, mental and emotional welfare,
- building a strong team of pet care professionals that are the best in the business,
- ensuring the highest of cleaning, disinfection and sanitisation standards, and
- providing a high level of care to our canine and feline guests.

The role will initially be a permanent part-time role of about 30 hours per week. Hours may vary between 7.30am & 6pm, including one weekend per month once sufficiently trained, with exact hours negotiated with the successful applicant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of our facility
- Liaising with customers, answer enquiries and manage bookings
- Delivering a high level of customer service and quality of care
- Lead, motivate and coach a high performing team
- Oversee facility when the Manager is not on site or takes annual/sick leave
- Field enquiries from and host guided tours of the facilities for prospective new customers
- Staff training and guidance, in line with company policies and procedures
- Regular assessment of property needs, including maintenance/gardening where required
- Flexibility to work weekends when required and to not take leave during holidays/peak periods without prior agreement from Management.
- Responsibility for recording and investigating any animal health concerns and taking appropriate action that is in the best interests of the animal and in line with company policies and procedures.
Experience and Skills:
- Experience handling various temperaments of dogs and cats
- Competent with computer systems with a good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills and experience in customer service
- Passion for problem solving and high attention to detail
- The initiative to notice extra work that needs to be done and the attitude to do it, now.
- Quick learner, self-motivated, reliable, responsible, caring and compassionate
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a cool head under pressure.
- Having great time management, and commitment to deliver quality in work output
Key Requirements:
- Must have current driver’s licence & access to a reliable vehicle
- Must have leadership experience
- Experience working with cats and dogs and/or a Certificate II in Animal Studies or Veterinary Nursing will be looked upon favourably
- Demonstrated ability to socialise dogs of all breeds or have the confidence and willingness to be trained to do so.
- Must be available 7 days a week including occasional weekends and will be rostered on over holidays & Christmas period
