THE OPPORTUNITY

TAFE NSW are seeking a Part Time Casual Teacher of Veterinary Nursing and Equine Studies to work between the TAFE NSW Connected Learning Centre (CLC) and the Scone TAFE Campus.  The role is responsible for a range of activities, which supports learners, and enhances the student learning experience.  As a professional educator you will skill the workforce of tomorrow by constructing and guiding the educative process.  In the role, you will deliver face-to-face educational programs and facilitate practical learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

This position is casual and has a pay rate of $84.69 per hour.  For full details about the position please review the Position Description and Information Pack.

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in the role, you are passionate about sharing your knowledge and industry experience to ensure that your students are set up for success.  You have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with stakeholders including colleagues, industry, and students.  You are self-driven and disciplined individual, who can manage high workloads and competing demands within a dynamic and flexible work environment.

You will be committed to keeping industry relevant and current to ensure your students are prepared to meet the demands of this engaging industry.  It is also highly desirable that you have equine industry experience.

To be successful in this role you must:

  1. Have appropriate subject knowledge with a commitment to maintain technical industry currency in any discipline, and skills and vocational qualifications, such as the below mentioned, equivalent or higher:
    1. A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and/or
    2. A Certificate III in Horse Breeding.
  2. *Hold the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or the TAE40110 qualification with the required additional upgrade units, or higher-level qualification in adult education.
  3. Have a minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience in the Veterinary nursing and horse industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no later than the previous five years.  With the ability to understand the content of the learning materials and the processes used in the discipline.

 

*If you don’t have a current certificate IV in Training and Assessment, but you do have a passion for your industry and the ability to commit to further training we encourage your application, as you may be eligible for a Teacher Scholarship as an entry point to gain the qualification required for an exciting new career as a Teacher with TAFE NSW
