Role Highlights:

As the Operations and Wildlife Supervisor, you'll oversee a dynamic team, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, guest experiences, and operational efficiency. Your leadership will drive our mission forward, combining responsibilities in animal care, visitor engagement, team coordination, and daily operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Create staff rosters, train, and mentor team members, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Animal Welfare: Supervise daily care, feeding, habitat maintenance, and enrichment activities for our wildlife.
  • Visitor Engagement: Interact with visitors, coordinate hands-on experiences, and assist with bookings, reservations, and retail sales.
  • Operational Management: Oversee reservation systems (such as Respax) and retail operations (including Hike), ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day functioning.
  • Educational Presentations: Plan and conduct wildlife presentations, sharing insights and promoting conservation efforts.
  • Professional Photography: Capture high-quality photos of guests with our animals using professional equipment.
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and safety in animal enclosures and park facilities, adhering to established protocols.
  • Conservation Initiatives: Contribute to conservation programs and support wildlife breeding efforts.
  • Frontline Support: Assist in reservations, sales, retail, and cafe operations, requiring an RSA Certificate within 30 days of employment.

 

To excel in this role, you should embody these qualities and qualifications:

  • Passion for Wildlife Conservation: A genuine love for Australian fauna and a commitment to their well-being.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage with visitors of all ages and lead a diverse team.
  • Experience: Previous experience in animal care, operational management, and related fields, with knowledge of animal welfare standards and operational systems.
  • Photography Skills: Basic photography skills and familiarity with professional equipment.
  • Certification: RSA Certificate (QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol) within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening and abide by our policy.
  • Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
