About the role

Based within UNE’s Centre for Animal Research & Teaching (CART), as Operations and Training Manager you will be required to provide leadership that ensures industry best practice in the preparation and maintenance of CART facilities and the delivery of technical support for all animal related research and teaching activities within them. Reporting to the Director CART, the role is responsible for daily activities, staff management, the education and training platform, and the creation of associated policies across the facilities. This role requires an enthusiastic, team-oriented leader with a strong drive to deliver the highest standards in animal welfare and research outcomes.

 

About you

To be successful you will need to be a strong people leader, able to manage, coach, motivate and lead. Ideally you will have a deep understanding across areas of production animal husbandry, research practice, technical education and training. This role will also require a high level of communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop and communicate educational material.
