Mullum Road Clinic -Psychologists and Occupational Therapists incorporating Animal Assisted Therapy into their work with Neuro Divergent individuals.
Mullum Road Clinic has a position for an Occupational Therapist to join the vibrant practice in Eltham. An Occupational Therapist with a strong interest in working in the context of Animal Assisted Therapy would be welcomed.
Mullum Road Clinic works to support individuals that identify as Neurodivergent (identifying perhaps as Autistic or ADHDers), gender diversity and the LGBTQIA+ community.
Mullum Road first began at our Ringwood location in 2009. We have since expanded to locations in Croydon, Warrandyte and Eltham, providing therapy for adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples. We strive to provide an inclusive, neuro-affirming environment and approach to therapies.
Mullum Road provides a supportive and friendly team environment. Each clinic has a Practice Manager and offers very supportive reception / administration.
Therapists that identify as neurodivergent are welcomed and celebrated at Mullum Road.
Our clinics lend themselves to incorporating “walk and talk”, nature- and bush-based therapy and Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) into your work. Creative, somatic and experiential approaches to therapy are beneficial in this role .
We are looking for a dynamic Occupational Therapist who enjoys being part of a multi-disciplinary team and learning from one another. Prior private practice experience is not necessary.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Occupational Therapist (ongoing contractor position). 2-4 days per week. Days can be across the clinic locations if desired.

- The possibility to bring your therapy dog into sessions.
ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL PSYCHOLOGIST
- Demonstrate a compassionate and enthusiastic approach and have a genuine desire to improve client's well-being
- Value building strong therapeutic relationships with clients and value developing relationships with referrers and other allied health clinics.
- Hold registration with AHPRA, professional indemnity insurance, and a Working with Children Check.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Interest in Autism, ADHD, Gender diversity and working with Neurodivergent (ND) individuals.
- Experience in Animal Assisted Therapy, or a passion to learn skills in this area.
