About the role
Due to our rapid growth, the Neurology department at Veterinary Referral Hospital is looking for their next superstar nurse to join their fun loving team of 2 Neurology Specialists, 2 Registrars, 1 Resident, 1 intern and 5 nurses.
Being the only Veterinary Neurology department in the state, we see a wide variety of exciting and unusual cases that will keep you on your toes – including spinal and brain surgery!
Being the biggest multidisciplinary hospital in Victoria, we have access to a large range of specialist services including Anaesthesia, Radiology, Oncology, Surgery, Internal medicine and an ECC department with dedicated ICU wards.
We have all the fancy toys that allow us to provide gold standard services such as MRI, CT, ventilators and everything else you could ever desire!
The Neurology department at VRH are such a tight knit family, you will never feel unsupported as you take this exciting leap in to the world of Neurology Nursing.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing qualifications with 3+ years’ experience in a busy GP or referral hospital (Will also consider nurses that do not currently hold their qualifications but MUST be willing to obtain their certificate)
- Rotating on-call roster
- Exceptional organisation and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a busy team, whilst demonstrating initiative
- Being able to adapt and handle the unpredictable nature of the job
- Willingness to participate in learning and development opportunities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Smart flow system experience (desirable)
- A passion to contribute to an involving team
- Team work is highly regarded
