VRH has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Oncologist to join our large multi-disciplinary and emergency hospital.
The Veterinary Referral Hospital has been providing veterinary referral and emergency services to the pets of Melbourne for over 25 years. As such, we take great pride in delivering the highest possible standards of veterinary medicine and customer service. Our hospital is a brand new purpose-built 24-hour ECC and referral facility. We have all the gadgets you need to ensure you can practice at your best and continue to learn new skills. More importantly, we have the only truly multi-disciplinary veterinary team in Victoria, including specialists and registrars in Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Neurology, Anaesthesia and Oncology. Our emergency and critical care caseload is incredibly varied, interesting and challenging.
About Your New Role
VRH has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Oncologist to join our large multi-disciplinary and emergency hospital. Our specialists are supported by an expertly trained and highly experienced team of veterinary professionals and are expected to lead by example, sharing their knowledge and experience with others so we can grow together. At VRH we provide the specialised equipment and expertise beyond what can be delivered in general veterinary practice. Our new hospital features advanced surgical theatres, imaging suites, dedicated canine and feline intensive care units, custom built 1.5T MRI, CT, digital x-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and lots more.
About You
As a successful candidate, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- A veterinary degree registerable in Australia with specialist qualifications (FANZCVS, ACVIM or ECVIM Board-certified) is required
- We are also keen to hear from Veterinarians who have finished residency programs
- Commitment to gold standard patient care and a “fear-free” approach to patient handling
- The confidence and initiative to work autonomously yet lean on your team as needed
