Main Purpose of the Role

Responsible for the management, execution, and optimization of Abbey Animal Health’s marketing strategies. Responsible for marketing activities including total product Management, SEO, digital marketing (social media, CRM), partnerships, events, and the management of brand identity for our Vet Products.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of annual, strategic commercial business unit plans encompassing portfolio review, competitive review, profitability, new product development and own the 6P strategy (product, pricing, placement, physical distribution, promotion, professional education) develop and drive growth for Abbey Animal Health’s Vet Products.
  • Delivery of advertising campaigns, PR, social and content marketing initiatives to amplify messaging, demonstrate leadership and drive sales and leads.
  • Support the sales team with customer development and acquisition. Provide Trade/ Customer marketing support helping sales in developing customer growth plans.
  • Responsible for new product development activities taking newly registered products from ideation to market launch.
  • Responsible for handling technical queries from customers.
  • Work cross functionally (Sales, Procurement & Inventory, and Regulatory affairs) to execute companywide Go-To-Market plans for new product launches.
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products, plus identify emerging trends and opportunities - supported by on-going customer and consumer research.
  • Responsible for forecasting potential partner relationships for key markets and implement them.
  • Responsible for market intelligence, analyzing market trends and competitor activity.
  • Manage and oversee sponsored events where Abbey Animal Health has an association and or presence (e.g. trade conferences, shows, etc).
  • Responsible for A&P investment planning, monitoring & management to agreed budgets & targets.
  • Provide ongoing communication and presentation support to the sales team, clients, and stakeholders, as required.
  • Track and report on project and campaign performance with a view to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support for the broader Abbey Animal Health portfolio.

 

Tertiary Qualifications & Industry Accreditations

  • Preferably a registered veterinarian.
  • Relevant veterinary qualifications with experience in marketing or communications.
  • Alternative option, degree in Animal Health/Nutrition, with a large animal bias.

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Marketing experience and has both a creative and data-based approach to their work.
  • Minimum 3-5 years hands-on experience across a range of marketing channels including digital technologies.
  • High levels of initiative, attention to detail and self-organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects.
  • Professional communication skills, with the ability to forge strong and successful stakeholder relationships – a great team player.
  • An interest in large animals (Horses, cattle, sheep)
