The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) lead the sustainable development of Western Australia’s regions and agriculture, aquaculture, food and fisheries sectors. About the opportunity
There is currently one (1), permanent, full-time position available for immediate filling.
In this role you will be part of Western Australia's biosecurity program to safeguard the state’s economy, environment and communities. Your role involves policy and plan development, and implementing initiatives to minimise the impact of invasive species to WA.
The Invasive Species and Environment Biosecurity Branch is a stimulating and rewarding workplace. The Branch team works on projects across WA, and as a member of the Branch leadership team you will be involved in many projects, and have the opportunity for regional travel to work with your team and stakeholders.
As the Manager Invasive Species Policy you will lead the design, development and coordination of invasive species biosecurity policy initiatives, including addressing priority issues and responses. You will lead complex policy and other projects relating to the State’s invasive species issues. You will need to develop and manage strong working relationships with stakeholders and represent the department in Inter-agency committees, and government committees at a national level.

Employment Conditions and Additional Information
DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.
