Description

As our Manager Disaster Preparedness and Response, you will:
• Lead and manage the effective delivery of services in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from, all hazards ensuring the objectives and related activities of the unit occur to the highest standards.
• Provide specialised advice and recommendations to the Director Agribusiness Operations on all hazards and operational oversight, including assistance in preparing and/or providing timely and well-researched complex reports, briefing notes, submissions and verbal briefings and presentations to senior leadership and internal and external stakeholders as required.
• Represent the Department in the state's disaster preparedness, response and recovery processes.
• Provide strong leadership by guiding, developing and supporting a high performing team that is client focussed, adaptive, engaged and informed about the business. You will foster ongoing professional development, information sharing and mentoring opportunities.
• Actively support the implementation of any related Queensland Government Policies.
• Actively contribute to and/or ensure, as applicable, the development of operational plans, reporting and monitoring of financial and human resource objectives and actively contribute to strategic planning processes as they apply to the preparation of, response to and recovery from natural disasters.
• Work across the department to build a collaborative community of practice in support of departmental strategic and operational imperatives.
• Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with key stakeholder organisations including government, industry bodies and primary producers.
• Champion organisational change initiatives to continually improve the performance of all Unit activities.
• Foster a culture that values ongoing excellence in performance, customer service, continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services.
• Undertake out of hours work and activities.
