Details: Are you passionate about animal welfare? Do you have exceptional writing skills and/or a policy development background? If so, this role may well be for you!
Based at the Domestic Animal Services facility in Symonston, the Animal Welfare Manager plays a critical role in our enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act 1992. They are responsible for driving regulation, policy and strategy pertaining to animal welfare matters within the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), including developing, maturing, and delivering the ACT’s Animal Management and Welfare Strategy, Cat Plan, Canberra Dog Model, and other strategies.
The role also provides support to the ACT’s Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (AWAC), including assisting with drafting Codes of Practice and preparing high level reports and briefing documents.
Notes: This is a temporary position available for up to six months. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
