We are excited to invite applications for the permanent position of Livestock Operations Manager at our new Jemalong aggregation in central NSW located near Forbes.

A growing career opportunity where you will oversee the daily operations of our livestock production and maximizing productivity and profitability.

 

In your new role you will:

  • Manage livestock management plans, including breeding, feeding, and health programs.
  • Monitor and maintain the health and welfare of livestock, including disease prevention and treatment.
  • Manage the selection, purchase, and sale of livestock, ensuring optimal market prices.
  • Oversee the maintenance of facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including animal welfare, health and safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders in the livestock industry.
  • Monitor and analyse production data, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Responsible for the management of all day-to-day activities of the farm to achieve maximum sustainable production and profitability.

 

You will have:

  • Extensive experience and knowledge in livestock management and production.
  • Strong knowledge of animal welfare, health, and nutrition.
  • High level focus on safety in the workplace.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Evaluate staff performance and carry out performance appraisals including the development of a Career Development Plan with each staff member.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • A current drivers’ licence.
