Our client is a well-established mixed farming enterprise located in the handy location of Williams, WA. They are seeking an experienced Livestock Enterprise Manager to join their team of Four Livestock Enterprise Managers, to take care of the Lamb Finishing division. This role involves all aspects of animal husbandry, as well as data analysis and monitoring offering a balance of mentally stimulating tasks and practical, hands-on work. You will be working for a large, family-owned business, under professional management – who prides themselves on innovative techniques and practices across both the livestock and cropping enterprises.

About the Role:

  • Oversee and develop already established Feedlot Enterprise
  • Autonomy to improve all process on farm
  • Focus on Prime Lamb Production – feeding both in paddock and intensive yards
  • Hands on role reporting directly to General Manager
  • Training junior staff members
  • Maintain the feedlot – cleaning out pens, cleaning troughs, fencing, general maintenance.
  • Weekly weighing and processing of lambs
  • All animal husbandry/mustering – drenching, vaccinating, general care
  • Coordinating shearing processes
  • Recording and inputting livestock data in to farming software
  • Weekly reporting and spreadsheet analysis
  • Pasture renovation, paddock selection for cropping program

 

About You:

  • Passionate data driven; organised livestock professional
  • Able to be versatile and help other enterprises throughout the year and when needed.
  • Must be tech savvy/computer literate, and able to learn software programs
  • Ability to training junior staff members in best practice animal husbandry techniques
  • Genuine interest in genetics and breeding practices
  • Physically capable and able to carry out all livestock duties
  • Passion for animals and their welfare
  • Willing to look at less experienced candidates with training to be provided
