Description

You will play a key role in the teaching and support of animal science-, veterinary sciences and veterinary nursing-related modules alongside an established and experienced team. You will primarily be involved in delivery of undergraduate animal health-, veterinary sciences and veterinary nursing-related course provision within the department. You may also be involved in delivery of the postgraduate veterinary nursing (post-registration Advanced Veterinary Nursing) programmes within the University. The appointee will be based within the AHBW Department (Veterinary Nursing Section) and will work in collaboration with colleagues from Harper Adams University and the Harper & Keele Veterinary School.

To undertake this role, you must either be:

  • a Registered Veterinary Nurse with at least five years post-registration experience

The main duties of the role include:

  • Teaching, assessment, administration and development of curriculum content related to the University’s qualifications in animal sciences-, veterinary sciences and veterinary nursing-subjects.
  • Participation in, and development of, the research activity of the department, particularly in veterinary nursing (pedagogy, natural and social science research) up to and including a standard suitable for publication in scientific peer-reviewed journals;
  • Organisation, supervision, and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
  • Marking and assessment of student assignments, coursework, examinations and practicals.
  • Participation in, and development of, the knowledge exchange and outreach activity of the department, which will include occasional weekend work (e.g., Open Days, public engagement events);
  • All other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post and the salary range of the grade.
