Description
Surrey School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) have a full-time position available for RCVS-registered veterinary surgeons with an enthusiasm for sharing their knowledge and experience with veterinary undergraduates.
We are looking for a practitioner with a production animal focus particularly in ruminant medicine. We require a permanent, full-time position but welcome part time applicants working in clinical practice. Practitioners from mixed practice and are willing to upskill are also encouraged to apply. Candidates should have enthusiasm and be willing to work flexibly. Adapting to teaching creatively in a range of different contexts is essential, alongside excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
We offer a generous salary up to £55K per annum (inclusive of a 10% Veterinary Market Uplift for RCVS registered applicants) pension, relocation assistance, flexible working options including job share, access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes, and supportive family friendly benefits including an excellent on-site nursery. We also offer a generous CPD budget and opportunity to maintain clinical skills for MRCVS registered applicants.
Successful candidates will bring a strong understanding of first opinion veterinary practice across their chosen species to complement existing staff in their ability to deliver high quality teaching and assessment across the veterinary programme. Focus would be supporting theoretical and practical animal health and husbandry teaching across years one and two of the programme, and clinical skills teaching in years three and four. Support of practical assessment across all years of the programme, including delivery of OSCE assessments and final year assessments is expected. Post holder will also contribute to the development of clinical skills to expand our existing extensive range of simulation models and support our existing team.
The University of Surrey is committed to providing an inclusive environment that offers equal opportunities for all. We value everyone in our community and are seeking to increase workplace diversity. Therefore, we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups, such as people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and people with disabilities.
Post holder will join the Section of Clinical and Behavioural Sciences within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. For more information, please email Dr Sharmini Julita Paramasivam (Section Lead, Clinical & Behavioural Sciences): s.paramasivam@surrey.ac.uk
