An exciting opportunity exits for a Lecturer in Anatomy to join the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences on a continuing basis.

About the role

The Lecturer (Veterinary Anatomy) will provide leadership and excellence in teaching at the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences, Melbourne Veterinary School. Working within the Department of Veterinary Biosciences, this position will be responsible for delivering teaching in veterinary anatomy across all the domestic animal species, drawing upon basic scientific knowledge to deliver teaching to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program students.

The Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree program at the University of Melbourne is an innovative and world leading four-year program. Veterinary Biosciences utilises an integrative ‘body systems approach to teaching and is a major component of the preclinical years that span the first two years of the degree. This approach incorporates teaching across the traditional disciplines of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and pathology, through lectures, workshops, practical classes and case studies.

The Lecturer (Veterinary Anatomy) will actively participate in the provision of mentoring and teaching of DVM students. The position will actively participate in leadership and service both within and outside the University and broader community and be an effective member of committees at the Department, School and Faculty levels as appropriate.

As with all University staff, effective promotion of positive engagement in learning and career development of self and others, and actively promoting equity, diversity and cultural awareness consistent with University values is an expectation of this position.

The position will be primarily located at the Parkville campus of the University of Melbourne but will be expected to teach and to attend meetings, seminars and conferences at other campuses or facilities from time to time.
