Description

STgenetics New Zealand Ltd processes animal semen to produce gender selected fresh and frozen product. This is an exciting opportunity to join an international company that leads the delivery of sexing technology to livestock industries.

We are after full-time laboratory technicians to operate and control Flow Cytometers sorters and other related laboratory equipment, prepare media, and process, freeze and apply quality control standards to animal semen.

To be considered for the role, applicants must have a qualification in science as well as experience in commercial laboratory environment, and experience dealing with livestock semen handling and analysis would be a distinct advantage.

A desire and capacity to acquire new knowledge and skills is required. You should be capable of working autonomously and be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, managers and clients.

 

Applicants must be prepared to work night shifts and rostered weekend work will also be required. Overtime is required from time to time during our busiest period.

 

The role may require temporary relocation to Awahuri/Palmerston North for up to 10 weeks per annum with accommodation provided by the employer.
