Your Opportunity

We're looking for a passionate Laboratory Technician to join our high performing Laboratory team on a Permanent Full-time basis based in Caringbah.

The suitable candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Conduct start of day procedures prior to the commencement of compounding.
• Compound medications using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients.
• Prepare and mix specialized medications in our state-of-the-art Cyto lab, ensuring precision and adherence to safety protocols while contributing to innovative medical solutions.
• Completion of in-house calibrations according to schedule. This includes but is not limited to pH meters, tablet hardness tester, balances, and viscometer.
• Ensure compliance of script with in-house 15-point checklist.
• Review the script to ensure accuracy and appropriateness before compounding commences.
• Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazard chemicals.
• Ensure status cards for critical equipment are in order and kept up to date.
• Cleaning and maintenance procedures for equipment are followed and documented. E.g. autoclaves clean, tablet machine greasing etc.
• Apply work practices as required under the Work Health and Safety Act, SOP’s, policies and procedures of the organization.

What You Will Bring to Our Team

• A passionate to help animals is a must.
• Experience in a leadership role within a dispensary or similar environment is highly desirable.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience in the Veterinary industry is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in Pharmacy is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Possess excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Project management experience is an advantage.
• Ability to adapt to and drive change in a dynamic environment.
