  • Attract and develop world-class talent
  • Lead people and projects to pursue new ideas and innovative research
  • Work in the unique environment of the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness and make a real difference!

The purpose of the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) in preparing, preventing, detecting and responding to exotic disease threats, is primarily delivered through the science conceived and performed at this unique facility.  The research undertaken here and the management of the facility itself, delivers directly to three of CSIRO’s challenges:

  • A Secure Australia and Region
  • Food Security & Quality
  • Health & Wellbeing

Our strategy aims to combine both an extension of our capacity and capability, through development of new relationships with government, academia and industry, and by consolidating our activity in animal and zoonotic diseases.  In order to increase critical mass and maximise the value of our combined resource, CSIRO is offering several key leadership positions in Animal Infectious Diseases Research.

Group Leader – Diagnostic and Avian Infectious Disease Research (Ref. 82435)

With accountability for the Serology (Avian Diseases) and Bacteriology teams within the ACDP Animal Diagnostics Program, you will direct significant capacity to operational and capability management, whilst maintaining an active involvement in business development and in your own science career.

Team Leader – Avian Infectious Disease Research (Ref. 82442)

Interacting closely with government and industry stakeholders, you will provide effective people and project leadership, and make a significant contribution to diagnostic testing activities and R&D, specifically research relating to avian animals.

Team Leader – Mammalian Infectious Disease Research (Ref. 82443)

Interacting closely with government and industry stakeholders, you will provide effective people and project leadership, and make a significant contribution to diagnostic testing activities and R&D, specifically research relating to mammalian animals.
