THE POSITION
The successful candidate will be responsible for the annual sales achievement of the BI-AH Ruminant Therapeutics portfolio and supporting the sales achievement of the Para and Marks-Min portfolios. Leads the relationship, communications, and accountability for achieving objectives with key Vet Clinics and pastoral (Large Cattle operations) customer accounts.
This is a full-time position based ideally in Victoria, with significant travel required across Australia as directed by the National KAM. Preference will be given to those candidates with a strong track record of key account management, business growth in a B2B environment, and a background in the Australian agricultural industry would also be an advantage.
Tasks & Responsibilities
The KAM should be able to perform the following duties and be able to represent the company accordingly:
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communications skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and regularly update the key account database, including the annual portfolio plan.
- Lead account planning reviews with the customer and with internal colleagues to meet or exceed mutual expectations.
- Promote the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health product range to customers using technical information, promotional material, and marketing campaigns.
- Build relationships and influence with all of the product portfolio influencers (wholesalers, resellers, veterinary clinics, and their representatives) to maximize product referrals and promotion.
- Attend to adverse events, inquiries, and issues, or ensure that they are attended to by appropriate persons.
- Record customer interactions and keep the customer database up to date using the current CRM system.
- Attend and participate in company sales conferences, cycle meetings, and training sessions.
- meets and exceeds customer objectives as outlined in the account plan.
- meets and exceeds the assigned sales targets and portfolio growth expectations.
- meets operating expense budgets defined by the company.
Requirements
- A degree in business, commerce, veterinary medicine, or animal science
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant sales experience in the animal health industry
- A positive approach to business
- A strong understanding of Priority Management in customer focus and task management
- A strong understanding of DISC behavioral profiling
- A thorough understanding of the processes involved in professional selling skills.
- A strong grasp of technical knowledge relating to our products and that of competing brands
- High-level analytical skills through data manipulation and management
- A successful track record of key account management
- Understanding the animal health industry and factors that can affect corporate goals
- Ability to use industry knowledge in planning and decision-making
- Ability to work independently, monitor one's own performance, and communicate through electronic means.
- Intermediate or higher administration skills are required, as are the key Microsoft suite of products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated proficiency in the internal CRM systems.
