The Position
An exciting job opportunity is now open as a Key Account Manager due to an internal promotion. This position is a permanent, full-time role based remotely and will report directly to the National Business Manager. We are open to considering candidates from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast. Interested candidates must be willing to travel domestically at least 20% of the time or as needed to attend internal and external meetings and events.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading strategic joint business planning & negotiation with customer head offices & key decision makers. Working alongside all functions of our business to connect and drive cross-departmental relationships with our customers to meet or exceed their needs while also meeting or exceeding our business objectives. This includes responsibility for budget achievement, promotion of the company, its products, its sales and marketing plans.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Ensures achievement of nominated sales and expense objectives for specified KAs, as determined by the National Business Manager—Key Accounts.
- Maintain the key account sales and expenditure forecasts, ensuring all existing and new opportunities are accurately captured and reported.
- Develops and implements key account business plans and promotional activities, monitoring against expense budgets (GTN) to maintain appropriate profitability and stay within the approved budget.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders; own, lead, and drive commercial discussions.
- Demonstrate expert product knowledge. Identify national training/educational opportunities, work alongside our technical teams to execute.
- Be highly organized.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage and coordinate cross-functionally, both internally and externally, to drive account objectives and executional excellence.
- Understand and analyze industry and customer data to develop insights and offer high-value, mutually profitable solutions to our customers.
- Lead account planning reviews with the customer and with internal colleagues to meet or exceed mutual expectations.
- Completes all administrative responsibilities to ensure key account activity is accurately captured and processed (approvals and claims) or ad hoc tasks as directed by management.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in business-related courses is highly regarded but not required.
- Demonstrated experience in either key account management or buying/category management in either FMCG, Consumer Healthcare or Animal Health with the ability to create strong rapport and build collaborative relationships.
- Strategic vision to plan both short- and long-term goals for accounts, which aligns with the BIAH strategy.
- High-level analytical skills through data manipulation and management
- Ability to highlight opportunities and gaps
- Strong commercial acumen that drives successful outcomes for BIAH
- Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills
